Just so you know, part of the reasoning we changed the format is
because KLOVE 24/7 Christian Hit Radio is coming to the area real
soon. Which is totally cool and you'll be able to hear Christian Hits
(them) on the radio or Christian Teaching (us.) I think it's going to
be great and give people lots of options for worship and/or teaching,
Dr. Dobson, etc. Currently KLOVE's format is 50% Christian Hits and
50% Modern Worship. It used to be all Christian Hits.
You can listen to them faintly right now on 88.1 out of Westerly,
but they are in the process of increasing their power and moving their
antenna right now... in fact they are under a FCC imposed deadline.
We were pretty comfortable with the format up to the time, except
for a few things that our partners on Long Island asked for - which by
themselves would be barely noticeable. Yet things collide at the same
time, which often is an indication God is doing something. It doesn't
make a lot of sense for us to duplicate or do the same (or even
similar) programming as KLOVE and we're going to try and build the
weekends to be music you will NEVER hear on KLOVE - or any radio
station for that matter!!! You definitely aren't going to hear
UnderOath or Life in Your Way on KLOVE! But we're making MORE room for
that on Saturdays, so keep the Saturday listening and input coming!!!
Thankfully there is room for it all, it is the Body of Christ after
all. KLOVE's introduction into the mix caused us to have to seek God
as to what we are supposed to and who we are suppose to be. I even
asked God if it was a signal for us to shut down and do something
different, but felt the answer was "No, but to spread the options,
opportunities and genres." I think it brings the opportunity for
incredible balance and variety. It's all pretty cool when you think
about it.
Here's the link for KLOVE http://www.klove.com/ You can listen to them online as well
So
keep looking for 88.1 to come in clearer any day now and keep giving
the input. We appreciate it!!! Ever changing ever going forward! And
trying to do that in the spirit of Christian cooperation. So there is
a reason for our madness.... then again a strong argument could be
made that we are just plain mad! And THAT would be hard to defend!!!
peace
